From branding his own signature bike, to reaching 1-million subscribers on YouTube, this BMX mini-legend is already on the path to greatness.
It’s been a big month for Gabb Ambassador Caiden Cernius, even by his own overachieving standards. Last December, Caiden released his own signature BMX bike with FitBike. At 10-years-old, he’s the youngest BMXer to have his own model. “The bar spins so fast I need to start double bar-spins instead of singles,” says Caiden. “And I love how the artwork matches my helmet art.”
Soon after, Caiden signed a deal with Hot Wheels as his newest sponsor. His relationship with Hot Wheels dates back to age 6, when he first started competing in BMX events; and it has only strengthened over time. A few years later, Hot Wheels built a private, signature half-pipe for Caiden. And finally, when he went to sign his sponsor deal last month, Caiden took a VIP tour around the Hot Wheels factory.
Caiden and Hot Wheels make quite the team. Even when he’s not riding his bike, Caiden is dreaming up new stunts with the Hot Wheels line of BMX toys, ramps, and jumps. In fact, for an upcoming video, Caiden will attempt to break the world record for the number of loops achieved with a Hot Wheels car. “The record is 8,” says Caiden, “but I think I can do 10. We’ll see.”
Following the factory tour, Team Caiden hit the road to Pennsylvania to compete in the Hot Wheels Super Chargers event at Camp Woodward. Caiden won both 1st place in the 16 & Under Division and claimed the Fan Favorite Moment award for a crazy 360 Backflip.
Additionally, around the same time, Caiden won an online video contest for his one-minute run, and also picked up the fan favorite award for his tailwhip to 540 combo. “I pretty much won everything there was to win last month,” he says.
Then, on his 10th birthday, Caiden’s YouTube channel reached an incredible milestone of 1-MILLION subscribers. ”My friend Jack Cain came by to surprise me,” says Caiden (Cain is a fellow YouTuber, known for his parkour). “We spent the whole day jumping on my new Super Tramp, which was my reward for hitting 1-million.”
With such an uphill trajectory, what’s next for Caiden, you ask? “More YouTube videos, more contests,” he says, “but mainly I’m just looking forward to jumping on the trampoline with my friends.”
Happy birthday, Caiden. Congratulations on your great success. Keep doing what you do.
