Biography

At age 2, Caiden Cernius mastered the balance bike. By age 3, he was into dirt bikes. After some time to explore different bikes, he realized his true passion was with BMX bikes. As a young boy he perfected his signature 360 trick. “I tried it 56 times in a day, and that was the perfect time to land it,” he explains. His parents started taking him to skate park and BMX competitions after that, and Caiden was officially hooked. A born showman, Caiden started his own Youtube channel at age 6, which is filmed and edited by his father, Brian, a former BMX rider himself. He’s spent the last four years traveling the world competing, filming, and improving his skills on his bike. This year, Caiden is the youngest BMX rider ever with his own signature bike for sale internationally. And he just turned 9! Safe to say, he’s got big things in his future.

Q&A

  • WHAT'S YOUR FIRST MEMORY OF BEING ON A BIKE?

I can remember learning to ride my strider bike when I was 2.

  • OF ALL YOUR YOUTUBE VIDEOS, WHICH WAS THE MOST FUN TO MAKE?

I would say going to Travis Pastrana’s house was the most fun. It was such an honor to get invited to spend the day with him. And his “Pastrana-land” compound is truly amazing

  • WHAT ATHLETES DO YOU MOST LOOK UP TO?

Most of my idols are actually motocross riders: Travis Pastrana, Robbie Maddison, Ryan Williams, and the whole Nitro Circus crew.

  • HOW DO YOU GET PSYCHED UP BEFORE MAKING A BIG JUMP?

I just tell myself I gotta send it! I also joke around about having a boost button under my seat!

  • I think its amazing that you are able to ride a bike that young and so well! What other things do you like to do?

(Question submitted by Jaden from Kansas)

I like riding my dirt bike, playing with RC cars, jumping on my super trampoline, and playing with Hot Wheels.

  • What is your favorite trick?

(Question submitted by Lotti from USA)

Double backflips are my favorite right now.

  • How much do you practice to get as good as you are?

(Question submitted by Zaden from USA)

I practice doing stuff on my trampoline and mats inside my house when it's raining, but mostly I just ride my bike a lot and that's how I get better.

  • At what age did you land your first bunny hop flat? How much longer did it take you to incorporate a spin in it? I.e. 180/360.

(Question submitted by Zen B. from USA)

I was five years old. I don't remember learning to bunny hop, but I learned to 360 that year so I must have already known.

  • What’s the best bike you do tricks on?

(Question submitted by Noah S. from California)

My own signature Misfit 16 model from Fitbike. https://fitbikeco.com/shop/bikes/2021-misfit-16-caiden/

  • Where do you live?

(Question submitted by Mason from USA)

I live in Washington State. It rains a lot here.

  • How old are you?

(Question submitted by Brandon from USA)

I just turned 10 in January.

  • How did you learn all those tricks. I am such a fan and want to do all those tricks like you

(Question submitted by Kai from USA)

You just gotta take things one step at a time. Learn to wheelie, then to bunny hop, and then fakie and 180. Each step leads to the next. The most important thing is to have fun.
