Biography

Lexi Mae Walker’s life often looks like a fairy tale. At the age of 11, she appeared in a video singing “Let It Go” (from Disney’s Frozen). The video picked up a half-million views on its first day on Youtube. Since then, she’s continued making visually magical productions of classic, uplifting songs like “When You Wish Upon a Star,” “Imagine,” and “America the Beautiful.” The viral success of these videos has led to her being featured on Good Morning America, America’s Got Talent and The Queen Latifah Show, and she’s shared the stage with top artists like Kristen Chenoweth, The Piano Guys, and Lindsey Sterling. In 2016, Lexi recorded her first EP, with covers of songs from Cinderella, Pinocchio and Celine Dion, and then in 2017, she released her debut full-length album “Inspire.” But if this whole musical fantasy looks like a dream on Youtube, the truth is that Walker works hard for her success. She’s been singing since before she could walk, and she pours her heart (and time) into her voice lessons, songwriting, and video shoots. “Having fun is the real success,” says Lexi. “As long as you’re doing the things you love, you’re going to be successful.”

Q&A

  • WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO TO MAKE?

I’d have to say my favorite video was the Tightrope cover video, just because we filmed in water, and it was freezing cold, and I actually got super sick afterwards. But in the end, it was this big adventure and I felt accomplished.

  • WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SINGER?

I have too many. I’d have to say my original inspiration was definitely the likes of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. Gotta love the divas.

  • WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST GOAL IN LIFE?

I want to live a life as balanced, productive and happy as I can. I think if I do that I can make the most positive change for the people around me.

  • WHAT IS YOUR SONG “TEACH ME” ABOUT?

I’ve had my fair share of crushes, and it's about that point when you realize that this kid that you’ve pinned all your hopes on just isn’t into you, and it takes them being with someone else for you to realize that. Then you’re left asking, “How do I get over this?”

  • WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON NOW?

I’m working on several original songs, and I would love to release an album. I’m just learning more and more every day that I loooove music. There’s nothing like creating a song that just touches your heart, and says exactly what you are feeling. It’s so stinking cool!
